Course Facilitator: The course is facilitated by Leena Munikempanna, who runs Pawpad. She is a certified pet groomer, an internationally certified master cat groomer, a canine esthetician and much much more!

Creative grooming for cats can involve coat colouring and/or coat sculpting or coat carving. It can range from extreme makeovers to very subtle changes in the coat. This is dependent on what the cat is willing to put up with!! If your cat is used to professional grooming a creatively carved coat for your cat is an option. Leena carries out the creative coat carving for cats that we offer. She runs Pawpad and is an internationally certified master cat groomer.

Cats come to us to have their coats shaved for various reasons. Sometimes pet parents prefer to not have the cat completely shaved. On such occasions trying out a coat carving is a viable option. Leena is certified in emergency pet care as well. Rest assured your cats are in safe hands.

Creative cat grooming is an extremely safe and interesting way to customise your cat’s coat. An individualised coat can articulate the personhood of your cat in extremely interesting ways. While some pet groomers can do incredibly extreme makeovers we recommend baby steps. This is to ensure that your cat is comfortable. You get to see if the makeover affects your cat in any way negatively. So that we both can continue to tweak till your cat is most comfortable sporting it.

What does it mean to be a Certified Master Cat Groomer?

This certification by the Professional Cat Groomers Association of America tests a cat groomer’s skills and knowledge. Your groomer’s professional knowledge and skills has now been certified by her international peers. Consequently rest assured, your cat is in safe hands!

Leena Munikempanna, as CMCG, is now considered at par with other international cat groomers. Her knowledge of feline anatomy, medical conditions, breeds and their needs as well as groomer handling techniques is certified as up to international professional standards. Together with this her grooming skills including cuts, baths, blow drying and body clips is now certified as being up to international professional standards.

Who is the Professional Cat Groomers Association of America?

The PCGAA is an educational and accreditation organization founded by groomers for groomers. This organisation was formed in 2008 to fill a lack in the pet grooming industry. Accordingly, it is an effort to bring together groomers from all over to learn together. It simultaneously works towards being a resource space for information on cat grooming practices and regulations.
