What does it mean to be certified as a Canine Esthetician?

The certificate course addresses the requisite skills in laying a strong foundation in understanding canine skin and haircoat. Leena is now equipped with the knowledge and skills required to address canine skin and coat issues. The course has also enabled Leena to test Pawpad pet grooming services by international industry standards.

Being certified means Leena is better able to engage with your vet. We will collaboratively work with your dog, you, your vet and other team members to look more holistically as to how we can contribute towards the health of your dog’s skin and coat. This will be a much slower process involving multiple sessions. The improved health of your dog’s skin and coat is the end goal.

The Certificate Course – By Whom? Where?

The certificate course in becoming a canine esthetician is a PGC (Professional Grooming Credentials) approved course. This is an extremely comprehensive course covering everything to do with canine skin and coat care. You can read more on the course on their website at https://canineesthetician.com/

How to Book A Session?

If you would like to consult with Leena on your dog’s skin and coat issue please do mention it when you book your grooming appointment. We will co-ordinate with you further from there.

The post Leena Munikempanna is now a Certified Canine Esthetician! first appeared on Pet Grooming Bangalore | Pawpad.

As the monsoon sets in it’s important to know what you can do to make sure your dog is taken care of in the best way possible. Here are some dog care tips to tide you over this monsoon.

1. Keep Your Dog Dry this Monsoon

Dog Care Tip 1: Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate!

Keep cool water around for your dog that is accessible. Carry water for your dog when you take her/him for a walk. Spray your dog with water – Have fun! If you can invest in a small pool that your dog can use to cool off. Use water as much as possible to keep your dog cool this summer.

Dog Care Tip 2: Limit Exercise

Dogs sweat through their noses and their paws. Some dog breeds with flat noses like pugs, dogs who are older or overweight can end up with heatstroke with just a bit of running around. Make sure that their run around time is limited.

Protect your dog by walking them either in the early mornings or late evenings in order to minimise the impact of the heat. And remember Tip #1 Carry water for your dog. If you find that your dog is panting give them water.

Dog Care Tip 3: Never Ever Leave Your Dog in the Car

Temperatures in cars rise within minutes putting your dog in acute distress and danger. Even with the windows rolled down this is a ticking time bomb. It is important that you make sure to take your dog when you leave your car and if you cannot then leave your dog at home.

Dog Care Tip 4: Get a Deshedding Treatment

Photo Courtesy: __ drz __ on Unsplash

A deshedding treatment at a pet grooming parlour is one of the ways of keeping your dog cool this summer. Some dog breeds that have double coats like the husky should never have their hair trimmed or shaved. It’s important though to have them deshedded. Deshedding is a grooming method which removes all the dead hair that generally leads to matts/tangles/knots in dog fur making it clumpy and painful. Having a deshedding treatment keeps the fur light and your dog cool. Book an appointment at your dog’s favourite pet spa and Bangalore summer heat will be a breeze!

Do take a look at Pawpad’s Deshedding Service for Dogs
