<ul class="wp-block-list"><li>Your cat&#8217;s over grooming herself.</li><li>The cat&#8217;s coat has become extremely thin.</li><li>Producing hairballs more often or vomiting.</li><li>If there is a redness, bumps or cuts on the skin.</li><li>Presence of fleas, ticks or other parasites such as ringworm.</li></ul>



<p>If it is any of the above it&#8217;s probably best to have your cat checked out by a vet. </p>



<p>Some reasons for excessive shedding:</p>

<p>Deshedding is a cat grooming method that helps remove dead hair. This keeps the fur healthy and free from matts/knots/tangles. Thereby also reducing the amount of fur your cat will ingest while grooming herself.</p>

Longer haired cats may require more frequent brushing.</li><li>Bathe your cat but only if it does not add extra stress that will end up aggravating the shedding.</li><li>Make sure your cat is getting enough Omega 3 and Omega 6 as this helps keep the coat soft and healthy.</li><li></li></ul>
