Three weeks of hands-on grooming practice, building from bathing and coat care into live nail trimming, hygiene clipping, and a full haircut — all performed on a live cat by the end of the programme. Cat skin is thinner and less elastic than dog skin, so bathing, brushing, and de-matting still follow demo → model → live practice where a model option exists; nail trimming, hygiene clip, and the full haircut don't have a viable model substitute, so those go straight from repeated live demonstration to live practice later in the course.

In-person, small-cohort, across 3 weeks. Bathing, brushing, and de-matting follow demo → model → live-cat practice. Nail trimming and hygiene clip skip the model step for both species — no fake nail or paw replicates the real thing closely enough to teach it. The full haircut skips it too, but for a different reason: there's no cat-grooming mannequin available on the market the way there is for dogs, so it goes straight from repeated live demonstration to live practice later in the programme. This means the cat course reaches live full-haircut competency that the dog version of this same tier doesn't — a difference in what's available to practice on, not in how seriously either species is taught.
The Pawpad Feline Grooming Practitioner Certificate (PFGPC) — proof of live nail-trim, hygiene-clip, and full-haircut competency on a real cat. Grooming skill develops at different paces for different people — our advice, regardless of pace, is to gain supervised experience before working independently, and Pawpad offers placement support into a supervised role for graduates who want it. Graduates can optionally sit an internationally recognised cat grooming certification exam at their own additional cost, billed at actuals — this tier's live full-haircut competency matches the full exam scope, not just the bather-level track.
