Pawpad Feline Grooming Essentials Certificate

A fast, hands-on introduction to professional cat grooming for complete beginners.

Over five days, you work hands-on with a live cat from day one under close supervision, building real bathing, drying, brushing, and coat-care skills, while observing how the more technical parts of grooming — clipper and nail work — are done safely by an experienced groomer. Cat handling technique differs from dog handling throughout — this course teaches the feline-specific approach, not a dog lesson with a different animal in the room.

What you study

Reading the Cat — feline behaviour and anatomy basics, body language and stress signals specific to cats, and the ethics of no-restraint handling.
Bathing & Drying — hands-on with a live cat from your first attempt, closely supervised.
Brushing & De-matting — hands-on, live-cat practice.
Ear Cleaning — hands-on, live-cat practice.
Hygiene Clip & Nail Trimming — instructor demonstration only. Cat skin is thinner and less elastic than dog skin, so clipper work near sensitive areas is shown, not practiced, at this level.
Full Groom, Observed — a full day watching a complete groom, start to finish, performed by your instructor.

How you learn

In-person, small-cohort, and hands-on from day one. This tier is intentionally immersive rather than gradual — you're working with a live cat on your very first bathing and brushing attempt, under direct supervision throughout. Clipper and nail work stay at demonstration level here regardless of tier progress, given how easily cat skin can be nicked.

What you earn

The Pawpad Feline Grooming Essentials Certificate (PFGEC) — proof of entry-level, bather-scope competence with cats. Graduates can optionally sit an internationally recognised bather-level safety certification exam for cat grooming at their own additional cost, billed at actuals — this tier's skill set matches that exam's scope. Students who want to go further can progress to the Practitioner or PACGC programmes.

5 days, Monday–Friday, 11am–5pm (30 hours total)
₹30,000 per student
₹7,500 non-refundable deposit due upon acceptance to hold your seat; balance of ₹22,500 due before Day 1
